In order to reopen tourism, Khanh Hoa province has vaccinated more than 18,000 staffs in this industry. Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism has actively proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to develop a plan to implement solutions and activities to attract tourists in the “new normal” state.

Towards the domestic tourism market

At the recent meeting, the Provincial Party Standing Committee agreed on the policy of restoring tourism activities. After that, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism has actively proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to develop a plan to implement solutions and activities to attract tourists in the “new normal” state.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, the Covid-19 prevention and control with positive results in the province will facilitate the recovery of tourism activities. Currently, Khanh Hoa has vaccinated more than 18,000 workers in the tourism industry. Tourism businesses are also very eager to welcome visitors back. In the immediate future, the tourism industry proposes to focus on welcoming inter-provincial visitors with the program “Khanh Hoa people travel to Khanh Hoa”, followed domestic tourists from non-pandemic areas. At the same time, the province is preparing steps to reopen for international tourists with “vaccine passports”.

Plan to reopening for international tourists with “vaccine passports”

Currently, the Department of Tourism has submitted to the Provincial People's Committee a pilot plan to welcome international tourists with “vaccine passports” by charter flights to Khanh Hoa.   “According to the process, after approval, the Provincial People’s Committee will send to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ministries and central agencies for comments before submitting to the Prime Minister for permission,” stated Nguyen Thi Le Thanh.

Many international tourists expects to soon return to Khanh Hoa.

The Department of Tourism (presiding over) proposes a plan, in phase 1, Khanh Hoa will concentrate on welcoming visitors to numerous markets which have properly managed the pandemic. In addition to “vaccine passport”, visitors will need to have medical insurance or Covid-19 insurance coverage with a minimal protection of VND 200 million for medical therapy and hospital bills associated to Covid-19. International tourists with “vaccine passports” will be able to stay and relax at hotels and resorts in the Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula Tourist Area. If successfully implemented, the tourism industry will continue to propose to choose resorts on the islands of Nha Trang including: Vinpearl resorts on Hon Tre island, Merperle Hon Tam resort ... to gradually recover international tourist market to Khanh Hoa.
Mr. Hoang Van Vinh - Chairman of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association said that at present, many countries in the region such as Thailand, Singapore ... had welcomed international tourists. Recently, the Prime Minister has approved the pilot program to welcome international tourists to Phu Quoc (Kien Giang). Khanh Hoa tourism industry needs to soon complete the procedures to pilot international tourists with “vaccine passports”, because delay will greatly affect the recovery of the international tourist market.

It was known that recently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed to the Prime Minister that, after piloting to welcome international tourists with “vaccine passports” in Phu Quoc, it would gradually expand to many destinations throughout the country, including Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa. Ms. Le Thi Hong Minh - General Director of Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company said that if licensed, it would be great prospects if welcoming international visitors with “vaccine passports” to Khanh Hoa. In the past time, the company has been keeping in contact with international airlines. Airlines and travel agencies are ready to bring international tourists with “vaccine passports” to Vietnam, of which Khanh Hoa is one of the prioritized destinations.
