Recognition of results obtained in the project of "Model of sustainable tourism development with community participation in Khanh Hoa Province"

The project has analyzed strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges for the implementation of the model of of sustainable tourism development with community participation in Khanh Hoa Province, and also raised questions for the community participation in tourism development in general and current sustainable tourism development models as well as and identified the development trend of key sustainable tourism areas of Khanh Hoa Province, suitable tourism models and proposed necessary conditions such as facilities, human resources, social resources for sustainable tourism development with community participation, needs to form and manage the model of sustainable tourism development with community participation of local governments and the Community-Based Tourism Coordinating Board. The project has piloted two models of sustainable tourism development with community participation in Khanh Hoa, the first model is "Local communities playing a leading role in the marine tourism chain" in Ninh Van - Ninh Hoa, and the second model is "Development of rural tourism, community-based eco-tourism, associated with conservation and development of natural resources and local culture in mountainous areas" in Dien Xuan - Dien Khanh . The project content provides possible solutions, conclusions and recommendations on the model of sustainable tourism development with community participation in Khanh Hoa. In the project, appendices have been developed, including: Developing community-based tourism in Ninh Van - Ninh Hoa, Cam Lap - Cam Ranh, building a model of agro-ecological tourism with community participation in Dien Xuan - Dien Khanh communes and developing a model of community-based tourism regulations in Ninh Van and Dien Xuan communes so that localities can study, apply and implement.

After being recognized, the project results will be published on the website of the Department of Science and Technology and handed over to the Department of Tourism, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Industry and Trade, Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to apply the research results into practice. Specifically, based on the proposal from the research results, the Department of Tourism is responsible for studying and completing dossiers to advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Standing Provincial People's Council to issue a Resolution on certain policies supporting the development of community-based tourism in Khanh Hoa Province in the period of 2021-2025. The Department of Tourism shall assume the prime responsibility for developing a plan to implement and deploy solutions to develop the model of community-based tourism in Khanh Hoa province, coordinate with the People's Committees of localities in the province to organize a survey of local community- based tourism models, in order to supervise, support and connect tourism enterprises providing travel services with the people participating in the construction and development of community-based tourism. The Department of Tourism shall coordinate with Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association to organize activities to promote the development of community-based tourism.
