Online seminar to promote cooperation between Khanh Hoa and Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation
On the afternoon of September 29, 2021 at the Online Conference Room of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province, Khanh Hoa Department of Foreign Affairs held an online seminar to promote cooperation between Khanh Hoa and Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation. Mr. Le Huu Hoang - Member of the Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments, branches, provincial general hospital, airlines and tourism enterprises attended the online seminar. At Saint Petersburg, Mr. Grigoriev Evgeni Dmitrievich-Chairman of the City Committee of Foreign Affairs joined the seminar. At online connection points, there were also the participation of Mr. Duong Hoang Minh - Counselor of the Embassy of Vietnam in Russia, Mr. Timur Sirozhevich Sadykov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City and tourism enterprises of Khanh Hoa and Saint Petersburg.
The online seminar proves to be a great opportunity for cooperation between Khanh Hoa province and Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation in the near future in the fields of health and tourism. At the seminar, leaders of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism presented tourism potentials of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa. The Department of Health and Provincial General Hospital gave a presentation to introduce the facilities of Khanh Hoa health sector. Regarding Saint Petersburg city, the Tourism Development Committee and the Health Commission also introduced to the participants of the seminar from Khanh Hoa province about tourism products, potential opportunities for medical cooperation. After the presentation on health and tourism potentials of the two parties, enterprises communicated, exchanged and raised questions to the Saint Petersburg city government, at the same time, established tourism cooperation, thereby promoting the image of Khanh Hoa and Saint Petersburg to local people of the two localities in order to promote tourism activities of the two parties. In the medical field, hospitals will connect, establish cooperation relationships, exchange medical contents to promote professional exchange, scientific research, and capacity improvement in medical specialties of the two parties. At the seminar, Saint Petersburg Committee of Foreign Affairs also requested Khanh Hoa province to coordinate and participate in Saint Petersburg Tourism Forum held in December 2021.
It is known that Saint Petersburg is the second largest city in the Russian Federation; in 2019 the number of Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa province ranked second among international visitors classified by nationality to Khanh Hoa; the total number of Russian tourists visiting Khanh Hoa is more than 450,000 visitors by 2019. The successful organization of the Promotion Seminar will serve as an opportunity for the tourism industry to strengthen tourism promotion and communication in order to prepare for the near future when the Government approves the Draft plan to welcome international tourists with “vaccine passports”, which is planned to be deployed to welcome international tourists to create momentum for the recovery and growth of tourism activities in the province.
