Khanh Hoa province will build itineraries connecting the heritage of folk songs, dances and folk music in association with tourism development

That is one of the contents of Plan No. 1460/KH-UBND dated February 14, 2022 of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to implement the project on preserving and promoting the values of folk songs, dances and music of ethnic minorities in association with tourism development in the province in the period of 2021-2030. Its purpose is to effectively implement Decision No. 3404/QD-BVHTTDL dated December 22, 2021 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and at the same time to preserve, disseminate, transmit and promote the special values of folk songs, dances, music of ethnic minorities, raise awareness and pride, self-consciousness of the people in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. It aims to preserve and promote the values of traditional folk songs, dances and music of ethnic minorities to become typical cultural tourism products, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the localities.

The contents of the Plan is divided into 2 periods. In the period of 2022-2025, it is to conduct an overall inventory and make a list of intangible cultural heritages of ethnic minorities; Restore and promote the values of folk songs, dances and music of ethnic minorities in association with tourism development; Bring some types of folk songs, music and dances of ethnic minorities into teaching and extracurricular activities at schools in ethnic minority areas; Propagate, disseminate and promote the values of traditional folk songs, music and of ethnic minorities in association with tourism development; Build itineraries connecting the heritage of folk songs, dances and music in association with tourism development. In the period of 2026-2030, it will aims to review and prepare a dossier for conferring the title of “People's Artisan”, “Excellent Artisan” who are ethnic minorities; Maintain and promote the values of folk songs, dances and music of ethnic minorities in association with tourism development; Maintain and promote a number of forms of folk songs, music and dances of ethnic minorities in teaching and extra-curricular activities at schools in ethnic minority areas; Maintain itineraries connecting the heritage of folk songs, dances and music in association with tourism development.

Funds for its implementation may be used from the central budget, the local budget and social sources. The Department of Culture and Sports is assigned to act as the focal point to advise the Provincial People's Committee to implement. The Departments, agencies, branches and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports, relevant units and localities to implement.
