Japan issues e-visas to Vietnamese citizens

(TITC) -On November 7, Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism issued Document No. 829/CDLQGVN-QLLH to international travel businesses to notify about Japan's issuance of e-visas for Vietnamese citizens.

Accordingly, Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism received Official Letter No. 4367/LS-PL dated October 20, 2023 of the Consular Department - Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the issuance of e-visas (JAPAN eVISA) to Vietnamese citizens participating in package tours.

From November 1, 2023, Japanese diplomatic missions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will begin issuing e-visas to Vietnamese citizens participating in package tours through designated travel companies (or other authorized agents). According to the Japanese Embassy, JAPAN eVISA issued during this period is valid for one-time entry into Japan with a stay of no more than 90 days for tourism purpose. The issuance of traditional visas (affixed to passports) is still carried out as usual and in effect by Japanese representative agencies.

Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism encloses a notice letter from the Consular Department- Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a copy of the diplomatic note of the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi (diplomatic note No. J.C.30/2023 dated October 9, 2023) and a document introducing the e-visa system of Japan.
