Vietnam recognized vaccination certificate from 44 countries and territories
(TITC) - According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the 15th regular press conference in 2021 taking place on August 19, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang informed reporters about a number of issues related to medical isolation regulations and confirmation of vaccination certificates.

Specifically, there are some questions “At the beginning of August, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam said that people who have received a full dose of Covid vaccine have to be isolated for 7 days when entering Vietnam. So when will it be applied? Do Taiwanese people when entering Vietnam comply with this regulation? How does the vaccination certificate work? Are there any specific measures on this issue now?”. Ms. Pham Thu Hang replied:
“On August 4, 2021, the Ministry of Health issued guidance on quarantine for entrants who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have recovered from the disease, in which it were required quarantine for 07 days and 7 days of medical observation for entrants who have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2, have been vaccinated with a full dose of Covid-19 vaccine or have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 and have recovered.
Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Information and Communications on developing criteria and mechanisms to recognize and allow the use in Vietnam of foreign vaccination certificates and vaccine passports, in order to create favorable conditions for people to enter and quarantine in accordance with the domestic situation and the provisions of Vietnamese and international law.”
To make it easier to follow the Health Ministry’s guidelines, the Foreign Ministry in collaboration with the Health Ministry has issued temporary guidelines on checking and recognizing foreigners’ COVID-19 vaccination and recovery certificates which are officially introduced to Vietnam via diplomatic channels of 44 countries and territories. The list of countries and territories that have introduced COVID-19 vaccination and recovery certificates will be constantly updated on the information portal of consular activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (lanhsuvietnam.gov.vn).
People who arrive from countries and territories that have not officially introduced COVID-19 vaccination and recovery certificates to the Vietnamese foreign ministry can get in contact with Vietnamese representative missions in their country to either legalize or approve the contents of the aforementioned
