Organization of an online conference to promote consumption of agricultural products in Khanh Son
On the morning of July 22, 2021, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province held an online conference to promote the consumption of agricultural products in Khanh Son District. Nha Trang had the attendence of Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Information and Communication, Department of Transport, Department of Health, supermarket businesses and distributors. Khanh Son had the attendence of Mr. Nguyen Van Nhuan - Chairman of Khanh Son District People's Committee, leaders of Khanh Son District People's Committee, specialized departments, businesses, cooperatives and affiliate groups in the district. At the meeting, leaders of Khanh Hoa Department of Industry and Trade reported on the implementation of solutions to consume agricultural products in Khanh Son district, and leaders of Khanh Son district People's Committee also presented a preliminary report on the difficult situation of consumption of agricultural products, price drop due to impacts of the Covid-19 epidemic recently.
Through the report contents, representatives of supermarkets in the province presented reports on the implementation of consumption of agricultural products in supermarkets, purchasing and displaying to stimulate consumer demand, and at the same time proposed provincial authorities to support transportation and disease prevention for drivers and wholesalers. Based on the delegates' suggestions, the Departments and sectors agreed to focus on solutions to support consumption of agricultural products of Khanh Son district, and at the same time, the Provincial People's Committee also suggested leaders of the District Party Committee and Khanh Son District People's Committee show highest concentration on disease prevention and control, especially at the peak time of August 2021 when the durian harvest season is coming, need to establish a concentrated isolation area for the workforce from other provinces and cities participating in harvesting durian, coordinate with the Department of Health, Department of Transport, Department of Information and Communications, and the Department of Tourism to carry out disease screening, transport, propagate and promote specialty agricultural products, specifically focus on online sales and e-commerce to deliver goods to consumers. Until the end of September, depending on the epidemic situation, Khanh Son district shall organize a specialty produce market to promote products and stimulate consumer demand.
Khanh Son agricultural products in general, particularly Khanh Son durian is a very famous specialty widely known by locals and tourists at home and abroad, and is consumed very well during the peak period of tourism. However, due to impacts of the Covid-19 epidemic, consumption is facing various difficulties in terms of both output and price. Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee organized an online conference to promote the consumption of agricultural products in Khanh Son district, which contributed to promoting the consumption of agricultural products to reduce difficulties for Khanh Son residents and strive to achieve the "dual goal" prioritizing effective epidemic prevention and control to promote production, business and local economic development according to the set goals.
