Nha Trang is naturally a seafood haven, and there is a wide variety of excellent eateries to keep you busy for weeks. There are so many choices that if you are a seafood lover, make sure to have a list in order not to miss out on any good places. The tip is to go to eateries frequented by locals. Contrary to other parts of Vietnam, even though you are a foreigner, you will still be charged local prices at most restaurants. So don't be afraid to give it a try! Recommended places to try seafood are Lac Canh, or Ngoc Suong Restaurant. Lac Canh However, as Nha Trang has been a popular place for both local and foreign tourists in the past few years, it offers plenty of Western restaurants from all over the world. Most well run restaurants targeting western diners have either managers or chefs from the west. If youve been enjoying the fresh baguettes in Vietnam, you're in for a treat. Nha Trang has its own unique variety of French bread. For French-style homemade bakeries and ice cream, head to La Louisane and Le Pretexte. The beachside restaurant run and established by a French couple is now one of the most popular hangouts during the day. In addition, the freshwater swimming pool in the centre of the restaurant is even more of an added attraction at lunchtime!
If you are vegetarian, try the tasty dishes at Cafe des Amis on Biet Thu or Au Lac restaurant on Hoang Hoa Tham. For Indian dishes, dine at Omar s Indian Restaurant on Tran Phu, the only Indian restaurant in Nha Trang, where food is cooked by an Indian chef. Open for business in 1998, menus feature authentic Indian cuisine, from tandoori delicacies to vegetarian delights. Owner Khimanda N.Sharma is now running three more similar restaurants throughout the country. If you are looking for typical German dishes - like sausages, home-baked brown bread, hamburgers, smoked meat and fish and apple pie, head for Biergarten 7c Restaurant on Le Loi. It is also run by an expat and is reasonably priced. | |
