Dai Lanh Sea – the attraction from pristine beauty
Update:11/30/2017

Far away from the center of Nha Trang City, Dai Lanh Beach is quite among the fresh green color of pine trees with fine white sand beach and white waves. Sea water is so pure that we can see small colorful fish swimming under the white sand bed. The beach is quite shallow and sloping lightly to far distance to ensure the safety for tourists. This is one of famous landscapes and sea tourism destinations in Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province.

Dai Lanh Sea, Van Ninh (Khanh Hoa).

Dai Lanh is located close to the border between Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen, about 80 km away from Nha Trang to the North of Nha Trang and going to the south for about 30 km will be Phu Yen province. If going from National Highway from South to North, in order to go to Dai Lanh, you must pass Co Ma Pass which has the pen name of Ma Canh – looking like a horse neck. This is a low, short, wide, easy-to travel pass section with the sea on one side and high mountain on other side. If go from the North to this place, tourists must go through Ca Pass section with the length of 12 km bending and hiding in the white cloud. Over the pass, there is a fishing village full of boats, sparkling blue water which is named Dai Lanh, completely located in a separate location with mountains on four sides.

Since ancient times, Dai Lanh has been listed in the famous landscapes of the country. According to the documentations, in the 17th Minh Mang Year (1836), the King sent craftsmen to carve Dai Lanh landscape on one of the nine large copper jars (Cuu Dinh) decorated in front of The Mieu Temple in the Imperial City of Hue. In the 6th Tu Duc Year (1953), Dai Cuu was named in the national dictionary compiled by the court. It was said that more than one century ago, the North-South only path through Dai Lanh was very rugged with many dangerous animals. Therefore, travelers wanted to overcome this route had to gather in a group before crossing the pass. In the 13th year of Thanh Thai Dynasty, there was a man from Thua Thien Hue named Pham Ngu Lao who was very healthy and well educated. When coming here, seeing beautiful scenery with high mountains, wide sea, he settled down here to do business. When settling here, he had to go to Tu Bong, Binh Trung, Van Gia to meet and make friends with other Confucian scholars and practice medicine to help the poor people in the region. After this, he gathered many people from other places, established Dai Lanh village and develop it become a happy and rich village.

At present, Dai Lanh beach is still quite primitive and local people are mainly living on fishing and sea trade. About 500m away from the beach, when the sun has not yet risen, local water gather at the beach to wait for the fishing ships coming back and this is the place with many noisy seafood trading activities. Therefore, in addition to resting and having sea bath, tourists can also enjoy many delicious seafood with much cheaper prices than other places.

After taking a sea bath, on the way home, about 8 km to the North, tourists can visit Vung Ro port, a famous revolutionary relic with the imprints of a secret wharf of the legend Ho Chi Minh Trail on Sea. From this place, “unidentified” ships carried weapons and ammunition from the north to the south to support for battlefield Zone 5 in the resistance war against the United states to save the country. Visiting Dai Lanh sea, Vung Ro Relic to express the gratitude to the martyr heroes is a journey to the sea and to the root with many meanings
